Job summary

Courtland Rehabilitation And Healthcare Center in Courtland, VA is hiring a Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) PRN to provide comprehensive treatment under supervision of a PT. The position requires an accredited BA or Associate degree in Physical Therapy and current state licensure.

Responsibilities include documenting progress, obtaining orders, scheduling patients, and participating in inter-disciplinary team activities.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited university with a BA or associate's degree in Physical Therapy recognized by the APTA.
• Holds current license and/or registration in the state.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive treatment to patients under supervision of a PT per state guidelines.
• Assist PT in identifying appropriate patients and referring them to rehab accordingly.
• Document patient participation and progress with progress notes, with PT co-signature.
• Ensure MD orders are obtained for treatments, recertifications and discharges.
• Assist with documentation requirements per state guidelines.
• Attend facility and rehab meetings as indicated by Supervisor.
• Act as rehab delegate to the interdisciplinary team.
• Participate in scheduling patients as indicated.
• Complete billing and bill patients ethically and accurately for PT services.
• Cover other therapists' caseload during absence as necessary.
• Supervise junior PTA staff or students as needed.
• Maintain professional relationships with staff, patients, and families.
• Provide in-service education regarding patient care to rehab staff and others as needed.
• Comply with facility safety policies and patient confidentiality rules.
• Report to work on time and maintain a professional image.
• Adhere to productivity requirements.
• Foster positive relations with customers, coworkers, and managers.

Education

BA or Associate's degree in Physical Therapy (APTA recognized)
