Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited university with a BA or Associate’s degree in Physical Therapy recognized by the APTA
• Current license and/or registration in the state

Job Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive treatment to patients under supervision of a PT according to state practice guidelines
• Assist PT in identifying appropriate patients and referring them to rehab
• Document patient progress accurately and timely, obtaining co-signature of the PT
• Ensure MD orders are obtained for treatments, recertifications, and discharges
• Assist with documentation requirements as per state guidelines
• Attend facility and rehab meetings as indicated
• Act as a rehab delegate to the interdisciplinary team
• Participate in scheduling patients
• Complete billing and bill patients ethically and accurately
• Cover other therapists’ caseload during absence
• Supervise junior PTA staff or students as needed
• Maintain professional relationships with co-workers, staff, patients, and families
• Provide in-service education as needed
• Comply with safety policies and patient confidentiality laws
• Report to work on time, adhere to hours, and project a professional image
• Adhere to productivity requirements
• Maintain a positive work atmosphere and demonstrate professionalism
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors
• Follow facility policies on lunch, sick leave, and time off
