Job summary

West Roxbury Health & Rehabilitation Center is seeking a compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant to join our rehabilitation team. You will provide skilled therapy under a licensed Physical Therapist while building meaningful relationships with residents and their families.

We value collaboration with therapy and nursing staff to promote independence and improve quality of life. A current PTA credential, CPR/BLS, and LTC experience are preferred, with opportunities for professional growth.

Qualifications

  • Graduation from an accredited PTA program is required.
  • Current state license or eligibility for licensure as a PTA required.
  • Current CPR/BLS certification required.
  • Long-term care or skilled nursing experience preferred.
  • Geriatric and subacute rehab experience preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with residents, families, and teams.
  • Compassionate, dependable, resident-focused approach.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Physical Therapist in planning, developing, and implementing individualized treatment programs for residents.
  • Provide skilled physical therapy treatments according to the established plan of care.
  • Assist residents in improving mobility, strength, balance, coordination, and functional abilities.
  • Monitor resident progress and document observations, treatments, and outcomes accurately and timely.
  • Maintain clinical documentation and departmental reports per regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team on resident progress, care planning, and discharge.
  • Educate residents, families, and caregivers on therapy techniques to support progress.
  • Manage caseload by coordinating individual and group treatment sessions.
  • Assist with maintaining therapy equipment and treatment areas safely and cleanly.
  • Participate in continuing education, in-service training, and meetings.
  • Support therapy aides and students with guidance.
  • Maintain resident confidentiality, privacy, and dignity.

Responsibilities
Physical Therapist Assistant Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Physical Therapist in planning, developing, and implementing individualized treatment programs for residents.

  • Assist residents in improving mobility, strength, balance, coordination, and functional abilities.
  • Monitor resident progress and document observations, treatments, and outcomes accurately and timely.
  • Maintain clinical documentation, treatment records, and departmental reports according to regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members regarding resident progress, care planning, and discharge recommendations.
  • Educate residents, families, and caregivers on therapy techniques and recommendations to support continued progress.
  • Manage assigned caseload by coordinating individual and group treatment sessions.
  • Assist with maintaining therapy equipment and treatment areas in a safe, clean, and organized manner.
  • Participate in continuing education, in-service training, and departmental meetings.
  • Support therapy aides and students as assigned through education and guidance.
  • Maintain resident confidentiality, privacy, and dignity in all interactions.
  • Follow all safety, infection control, and regulatory standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Physical Therapist Assistant Qualifications:
  • Graduation from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program required.
  • Current state license or eligibility for licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant required.
  • Current CPR/BLS certification required.
  • Long-term care or skilled nursing experience preferred.
  • Experience working with geriatric and subacute rehabilitation populations preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with residents, families, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
  • Compassionate, dependable, and resident-focused approach to care.
  • This position requires regular interaction with residents, coworkers, visitors, and/or supervisors.In order to ensure a safe work environment for residents, coworkers, visitors, and/or supervisors of the Company, and to permit unfettered communication between the employee and those residents, coworkers, visitors, and supervisors, this position requires that the employee be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language at an intermediate or more advanced level.
