Job summary

Southwestern Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in West Mifflin, Pennsylvania is seeking a compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our rehabilitation team. This PRN role works under the direction of a licensed Physical Therapist to deliver individualized treatment plans.

You will contribute to mobility, function, and overall well-being, document progress, and collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other therapists in a patient-centered setting.

Qualifications

• Current Physical Therapist Assistant license in Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent organizational and documentation abilities.
• A compassionate, patient-focused approach to care.
• Skilled nursing or long-term care experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide physical therapy treatments under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist.
• Assist in implementing individualized treatment plans based on each resident's goals and clinical needs.
• Monitor resident progress and communicate changes to the supervising Physical Therapist.
• Accurately document treatments, patient responses, and progress in accordance with facility and regulatory guidelines.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, speech therapists, and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive, patient-centered care.
• Educate residents and caregivers on therapeutic exercises, mobility techniques, and safety practices.
• Help maintain a safe, clean, and positive therapy environment.
