Job summary

Christus Homecare in Palestine, TX is hiring a full-time Physical Therapist Assistant to join our dedicated team. You will provide treatment, exercise instruction and patient education under the supervision of a PT.

This home health role requires adherence to state regulations, strong communication with patients and families, and the ability to operate in diverse home environments. Target pay information is included below.

Qualifications

• Current, licensed, registered, or certified to assist in the practice of physical therapy in state of practice
• Current CPR certification
• Current driver's license and vehicle insurance, access to a dependable vehicle, or public transportation
• Ability to function in any home situation regardless of age, race, creed, color, sex, disability, or financial condition of the client
• Available to work a weekend rotation

Responsibilities

• Follow state laws governing provision of physical therapy in home care and follow the treatment plan defined by the supervising PT
• Instructs patients in active and passive exercise, gait, ADL, transfer, safety and prosthetic training
• Observes, records, and reports patient response to treatment and coordinates care with the health team
• Instructs patient, family, caregiver, and other health team members in therapy within PTA scope
