Waverly Rehabilitation And Healthcare Center in Waverly, VA, is seeking a Physical Therapy Assistant to provide comprehensive treatment under supervision and to assist with patient referrals to rehab services. Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited university with a BA or Associate degree in Physical Therapy recognized by the APTA.
• Holds current license and/or registration in the state.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive treatment to patients under supervision of a PT according to state guidelines.
• Assist PT in identifying appropriate patients and referring them to rehab.
• Document patient progress daily with PT co-signature.
• Obtain MD orders for treatments, recertifications, and discharges.
• Attend facility and rehab meetings as indicated by Supervisor.
• Act as rehab delegate to the interdisciplinary team.
• Assist with scheduling and billing for PT services.
• Cover other therapists’ caseload during absences as needed.
• Supervise junior PTA staff or students as needed.
• Maintain professional relationships with staff, patients, families.
• Provide in-service education to rehab staff and hospital/community teams.
• Comply with all facility safety policies and patient confidentiality.

BA or AS in Physical Therapy (APTA-recognized)
