Job summary

Waverly Rehabilitation And Healthcare Center in Waverly, VA is seeking a Part-time Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to join our caring team. You will provide comprehensive treatment under supervision of a PT and help identify appropriate patients for rehab within state guidelines.

You will document daily participation, obtain co-signatures, and assist with orders, discharges, and related documentation while supporting an interdisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited university with a BA or Associate degree in Physical Therapy that is recognized by the APTA.
• Holds current license and/or registration in the state.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive treatment to patients under the supervision of a PT according to state practice guidelines.
• Assist PT in identifying appropriate patients and referring them to rehab accordingly.
• Document patient’s daily participation and progress on progress note in an accurate and timely fashion, and obtain the co-signature of the PT.
• Ensure MD orders are obtained for treatments, recertification's and discharges.
• Assist with other documentation requirements as indicated and according to state guidelines.
• Attend facility and rehab meetings when indicated by Supervisor.
