Job summary

Emporia Rehabilitation And Healthcare Center in Emporia, VA is a long term care facility seeking a part-time Physical Therapy Assistant to join our care team. You will provide treatment under the supervision of a PT and help residents achieve rehabilitation goals.

Qualified candidates hold a BA or associate degree in Physical Therapy, possess a current state license or registration, and are committed to quality patient care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited university with a BA or Associate’s degree in Physical Therapy recognized by the APTA.
• Holds current license and/or registration in the state.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive treatment to patients under the supervision of a PT according to state practice guidelines.
• Document patient’s daily participation and progress with progress notes, and obtain PT co-signature.
• Ensure MD orders are obtained for treatments, recertifications and discharges.
• Attend facility and rehab meetings when indicated by Supervisor.
• Supervise junior PTA staff or students as needed.
• Maintain professional relationships with coworkers, facility staff, patients and families.
• Provide in-service education regarding patient care or physical therapy services as needed.
