Job summary

Physicians Surgical Hospitals’ Quail Creek Physical Therapy in Amarillo, TX is seeking a day shift, PRN Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join the team.

Under supervision of a licensed PT, the PTA will assist with treatments, document patient care, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team. Texas licensure and BLS are required; prior acute care or outpatient experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Physical Therapist Assistant from an accredited program.
• Texas state licensure as a Physical Therapy Assistant.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
• Preferred: Previous acute care, rehab, or outpatient experience.

Responsibilities

• Supports Physical Therapists in providing treatments to help patients recover from injuries, improve mobility, and manage physical disabilities.
• Works under the direction and supervision of a licensed PT, implementing prescribed treatment plans and monitoring patient progress.
• Provide and document patient care.
• Provide and document physical therapy treatment to patients.
• Supervise assigned staff.
• Interact and practice in collaboration with other professionals.
• Individuals must comply with the Texas Physical Therapy Practice Acts and Rules.

Education
