Job summary

Cape Fear Community College seeks a dedicated Academic Coordinator of Clinical Education (ACCE) to lead the PTA Program’s clinical education component and serve as full-time core faculty in didactic, laboratory, and clinical instruction. You will plan, develop, coordinate, administer, monitor, and evaluate the clinical education program, aligning it with CAPTE standards and accreditation requirements.

Qualifications

• Must be a licensed PT or PTA and hold an active license in a US jurisdiction.
• Minimum of three years of post-licensure clinical practice.
• At least two years of SCCE/CI or teaching/admin experience in PTA education.

Responsibilities

• Serve as ACCE and full-time core PTA program faculty.
• Plan, develop, coordinate, administer, monitor, and evaluate the clinical education component.
• Correlate clinical education with didactic and lab education and assess effectiveness.
• Develop and maintain diverse clinical sites aligned with goals and accreditation.
• Coordinate clinical affiliation agreements and maintain records with program leadership.
• Schedule student clinical assignments and rotations per policies and readiness.
• Communicate expectations and procedures to students, sites, SCCEs, and CIs.
• Orient, mentor, and support clinical education faculty and staff.
• Monitor student performance and coordinate remediation or interventions as needed.
• Ensure supervision complies with laws, regulations, policies, and CAPTE requirements.
