About this position

Physical Therapist Assistant

Now Hiring in Wellington, Delray Beach, and Boca Raton, FL — Multiple Opportunities!

Join the Team at Florida Spine Associates!

Florida Spine Associates is a premier, multidisciplinary spine specialty private practice specializing in world-class orthopedic spine surgery, interventional pain management, and dedicated physical therapy. With regional clinics spanning South Florida — including Boca Raton, Boynton Beach, Wellington, Delray Beach, West Palm Beach and Fort Lauderdale — our elite team of board-certified, fellowship-trained physicians is dedicated to restoring our patients' quality of life using cutting-edge, innovative technologies.

Unlike a hospital-network clinic, Florida Spine Associates operates on an agile, independent private practice model. We offer deeply personalized, compassionate patient care and clinical autonomy. Here, you are a highly valued member of a tight-knit medical team, working in a supportive space where your voice is heard, communication is seamless, and your contributions directly shape our standard of excellence. Experience dedicated growth, team collaboration, predictable work schedules, and an atmosphere that you are part of, heard, and not lost in a large hospital environment.

As a Physical Therapist Assistant, you are responsible for performing a variety of administrative and clinical tasks to support healthcare providers in delivering high-quality patient care. This role requires a combination of medical knowledge, technical skills, and strong interpersonal abilities. We are looking for someone who thrives on patient care and compassion, ensuring the well-being of patients and providing a positive, supportive environment for patients and staff while working in conjunction with physicians, advanced practitioners, front office, and clinical staff. Orthopedic or Pain Medicine experience preferred. An exciting opportunity to join our Wellington, Delray Beach, and Boca Raton teams!

Aquatic Therapy Opportunity — Delray Beach: Our Delray Beach clinic features a state-of-the-art aquatic physical therapy center. Aquatic therapy experience is a plus but not required — we provide training.

A Genuinely Cutting-Edge Opportunity

Work under PTs who collaborate directly with some of the top spine surgeons and interventional pain physicians in Florida — you're plugged into a genuinely high-level care team. Our PT department also includes therapists who perform EMG and nerve conduction studies, giving treatment plans a diagnostic precision most outpatient settings don't have, and giving you a front-row seat to cutting-edge therapy care.

Led by Experience, Built on Teamwork

Our leadership team brings decades of hands-on clinical and practice experience, and we've built this department the way we'd want to work ourselves: people who genuinely enjoy being around each other, push toward the same goals together, and have each other's backs — from leadership on down.

Position Overview

In this role, you will work directly under the supervision of our Physical Therapists to implement customized treatment plans for patients recovering from spinal surgeries, sports injuries, and complex orthopedic conditions. You will balance direct clinical patient care with essential clinic maintenance to ensure an efficient, welcoming environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform manual techniques, stretching, and soft tissue mobilization within your licensed scope of practice.
  • Apply modalities including ultrasound, electrical stimulation, mechanical traction, and heat/ice therapies.
  • Monitor, document, and report patient response, tolerance, and progress during each session.
Patient Operations & Support
  • Greet patients, guide them to treatment areas, and assist with safe transfers or mobility guarding.
  • Instruct and correct patients on proper biomechanics and exercise form.
  • Act as a motivational partner, keeping patients engaged and comfortable throughout their recovery.
Clinic Maintenance & Administration
  • Clean, sanitize, and reset treatment tables, pillowcases, and exercise equipment between patient uses.
  • Manage clinical inventory by tracking, ordering, and stocking therapy supplies and linens.
  • Assist the front desk with scheduling, patient check-ins, or phone inquiries during peak hours.
Required Qualifications

  • Licensure: Active Florida Physical Therapist Assistant license in good standing.
  • Skills: Excellent communication, strong organizational abilities, and a warm, empathetic patient manner.

  • Tech Skills: Familiarity with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) software and digital home exercise program (HEP) platforms.
  • Experience in aquatic therapy for the Delray Beach location, but not required.
Physical Requirements
  • Mobility: Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and crouch for extended periods.
  • Strength: Capability to lift up to 50 pounds and assist with heavy patient transfers or resistance training.
  • Competitive hourly wage or salary based on experience.
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance packages.
  • Paid time off (PTO) and paid holidays.
  • Continuing education allowance to maintain licensure requirements.
