Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide daily telephone contact to donors, prospects, congregations, clergy, lay leaders and institutions regarding financial support.
• Answer questions and inquiries from donors regarding LCMS programs.
• Provide database information, updates, and donor concerns to supervisory staff.

Organization Profile

The LCMS Mission Advancement (MADV) unit connects people in their voluntary charitable giving to the Synod’s ministry and mission efforts. It does so in a manner consistent with Scripture and the Lutheran Confessions while complying with legal, regulatory and ethical principles expected of all trustworthy philanthropic organizations. MADV works closely with LCMS Communications department to support the mission and ministry efforts of the Offices of National Mission, International Mission and Pastoral Education (all of which report to the LCMS Chief Mission Officer) as well as the general operations of corporate Synod.

Reporting Relationships

• Reports to Manager – Telecare & Gift Processing

Essential Job Functions

• Provide daily telephone contact to donors, prospects, congregations, clergy, lay leaders and institutions regarding financial support, follow-up information and acknowledgement of gifts or general call assignments.
• Answer questions and inquiries from donors, prospects, congregations, clergy, lay leaders and institution calls regarding LCMS programs; be able to direct those parties to appropriate sources should more information be desired or necessary.
• Provide database information, updates and/or donor concerns or questions daily to supervisory staff. Enter/update caller demographic/biographic/gift history data into database. Investigate complaints/issues/unresolved problems.
• Relate to donors, prospects, congregations, clergy and lay leaders, as well as LCMS staff.

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Prior experience in customer service interactions and soliciting donations over the telephone preferred.
