Job summary

Phipps in New York City is seeking a Security Guard to maintain a secure environment at the Sotomayor Community Center. The role involves monitoring participants, staff, and visitors, as well as managing emergency procedures and maintaining logs.

Job description

Maintains front door security and supervises Sotomayor Community Center. Ensure adherence to program and facilities a secure and functional environment for the program participants and staff.

Duties And Responsibilities

• Monitors all participants, staff and visitors entering and leaving the facility.
• Answers telephone and directs calls to the appropriate staff member and/or department.
• Welcomes and introduces new participants as they arrive and, in the absence of an onsite coordinator.
• Conducts vertical tours of the facility.
• Manages fire safety and other emergency procedures.
• Makes daily rounds of the center.
• Maintains daily, visitor and resident sign in logs.
• Prepares incident reports and enters them into the electronic data collection system.
• In an emergency contacts EMS, FDNY, or NYPD to address on-site incidents.
• Contacts Program Director regarding on-site emergencies.
• Attends professional development training in order to ensure all certifications are up to date.
• Perform other tasks as deemed necessary by PN Management.
