Primary Purpose

To deliver fast, friendly, and flexible service to customers, adhere to Food Lion customer service standards, and assist in maintaining store standards alongside the Customer Service Manager and Assistant Customer Service Manager.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Provide prompt, friendly service and engage customers positively.
2. Greet customers and use their names when possible.
3. Unload groceries from carts, group cold items, and check for forgotten items.
4. Follow proper bagging procedures and handle transactions accurately.
5. Assist customers with their orders, including helping to carry items to their cars.
6. Maintain a neat work environment and ensure store cleanliness.
7. Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards.
8. Complete required training and perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Effective communication and customer service skills.
• Willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements.
• Ability to perform cashier and service center duties.
• Must meet minimum age requirements and physical demands.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to operate computers and communication systems.
• Perform repetitive motions, lift up to 50 lbs., and stand continuously.
• Handle substances related to cleaning, packaging, and food products.
• Visual ability to check IDs and written documents.
