PetVet Care Centers' Banning Veterinary Hospital is currently seeking a Registered Veterinary Technician to join their team!

Position Overview

Join our team as a Registered Veterinary Technician who supports hospital operations by providing dedicated quality veterinary care and exceptional service to our patients and clients. Responsibilities include providing patient care by determining animal requirements, conducting examinations and diagnostic procedures, assisting during surgery and operations, providing nursing care, assisting with feeding and caring for patients, maintaining medical supplies and equipment, overseeing triage and discharging patients, and maintaining patient medical records.

Banning Veterinary Hospital in Banning, California was established in 1979 and serves pets across Riverside County from Beaumont to Palm Springs. The hospital offers extended hours, including late‑night urgent care on weekdays.

Key Responsibilities

• Determine animal requirements by conducting examinations and interviews, reviewing care plans, completing laboratory tests and diagnostic imaging.
• Care for patients by taking vital signs, collecting samples, administering medications, vaccines, and wound care.
• Support patient examinations and operations by assembling required supplies, securing patients, and restraining them; aid as directed by the veterinarian.
• Apply comprehensive knowledge of anatomy, physiology, disease processes, pharmacology, and equipment usage.
• Obtain and verify medications.
• Ensure patients have food and water, keep rooms, cages and equipment clean, and observe patients for clinical signs.
• Fill prescriptions, administer medications, and maintain documentation of controlled drugs.
• Maintain a safe, secure, and humane environment by sterilizing instruments, sanitizing areas, and following legal regulations.
• Document patient conditions and updates in the database promptly.
• Communicate patient status to owners as directed by the veterinarian.
• Maintain equipment, troubleshoot, perform preventive maintenance, and call for repairs.
• Manage inventory and place orders for necessary supplies.
• Participate in continuing education and read professional journals.
• Release pets to owners, ensuring they are clean and groomed.
• Follow oral and written directions and perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) license required.
• At least one year of experience preferred.
