Position Summary
The PART-TIME RECRUITMENT COORDINATOR is a temporary part-time position responsible for implementing effective recruitment events within their targeted region to recruit new youth members and adult volunteers. The role involves collaborating with council staff and volunteers, utilizing sales techniques to capture and convert leads, and conducting engaging Girl Scout activities for girls and caregivers/parents.
The position requires local travel and primarily evening and weekend work hours to meet organizational membership goals. Recruitment coordinators will host recruitment events in their assigned regions, providing quality Girl Scout recruitment experiences according to guidelines.
Essential Functions & Major Accountabilities
- Complete GSOFCT Staff Training modules and understand the Girl Scout Leadership Experience.
- Promote Girl Scouting and increase awareness in the community through recruitment sessions.
- Deliver engaging activities for girls and caregivers at events.
- Recruit youth members and assist with on-site registration or generating leads.
- Recruit adult volunteers for leadership roles.
- Assist customers with online registrations and troubleshoot issues.
- Perform administrative tasks related to recruitment events and follow-up.
- Collaborate with staff and volunteers to meet recruitment goals.
- Communicate the Girl Scout mission and its benefits.
- Represent the Girl Scout brand professionally.
- Promote diversity, equity, inclusion, and access.
- Ensure compliance with policies and guidelines.
- Adapt to changes in assignments and schedules.
- Support other duties as needed.
Education and Work Experience
- High School Diploma preferred; Bachelor's degree in related fields preferred.
- Experience with recruitment or sales preferred.
- Experience working with youth and familiarity with Girl Scouts is a plus.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish strongly preferred.
Skills and Competencies
- Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license.
- Reliable and committed to the Girl Scout mission.
- Ability to lead events and engage potential members.
- Knowledge of or ability to learn about Girl Scouts.
- Strong attention to detail and customer service skills.
- Effective teamwork and communication skills.

Additional Requirements & Physical Demands
- Willingness to travel within the jurisdiction.
- Flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.
- Pass background check and be a registered Girl Scout member.
- Valid Connecticut driver’s license and proof of insurance.
- Physical ability to lift objects up to 25 lbs and perform event setup and cleanup.
Work Environment
- Community settings like schools, libraries, community centers.
- Remote work with visits to the office (10%) and regional travel (90%).
