Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to evaluate and treat patients across orthopedic, neurological, developmental, and geriatric rehab needs. You will implement the plan of care under the supervision of a physical therapist and serve as a clinical resource for staff and students.

This role includes educating patients and families, adjusting interventions based on patient response, documenting daily notes, and coordinating with the PT.

Qualifications

• Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) in good standing.
• Experience with orthopedic, neurological, developmental, vestibular, and geriatric rehab.
• Ability to document care and communicate with supervising PT.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and treat patients across rehab needs as directed by PT.
• Implement the plan of care under the supervising PT.
• Educate patients, families, and other health care staff.
• Document daily notes and charging in therapy EMR.
• Coordinate with PT on patient treatment interventions.
• Provide treatment interventions including therapeutic exercise, gait and balance training, ultrasound, and electrical stimulation.

Job description

The Physical Therapist Assistant evaluates and treats patients with a wide range of rehabilitative needs, including orthopedic, neurological, developmental, vestibular, and functional conditions resulting from injury, illness, disease, or age-related changes. Implements plan of care as provided by the physical therapist, treating patients of all ages. Serves as a role model in delivery of professional services and as a clinical resource for staff and students.

Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) - Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR)

Educates patients, family, caregivers, students, and other health care providers using relevant and effective teaching methods.

Adjusts the treatment based on patient response and available evidence only after communicating with the evaluating therapist and documenting that communication in the daily note.

Produces documentation in accordance with the Clinical Documentation Policy (CTSCP67). (Follows treatment plan of care established by PT

Provides treatment interventions including therapeutic exercise, gait and balance training, ultrasound

Administers electrical stimulation treatment

Provides therapeutic exercise in the water (aquatic therapy)

Completes daily documentation and charging in therapy EMR

Coordinates with PT on patient treatment interventions
