About the Position

The Division seeks to establish a roster of eligible candidates forpart-time, temporary, hourly teaching positions during the Fall 2026 and Spring 2027 semesters as needed. The Hiring Administrator will draw from thispool of applicants when there is a requirement for temporaryassignments. The ideal candidate will demonstrate cultural competency in servingdiverse community college student populations, including those withdiffering abilities, AB 540 students, DACA recipients, ForeignResidents, VACA participants, and Continuing Education students.They will support RSCCD's mission to promote self-awareness,knowledge, and communication skills, enabling students toparticipate creatively and confidently in an ever-changingworld.

General Responsibilities

Teach all assigned classes, which may include evening or off-campusassignments unless excused according to Board Policy provisions.Maintain accurate records of student enrollment, attendance, andacademic progress. Assist in maintaining course outline for eachassigned course. Be familiar with and observe the administrativeregulations as they appear in the Faculty Handbook (flex calendarobligations, course overviews, etc). Participate in departmentcommittees and activities. Will teach a variety of courses/levelswithin the discipline/area of study.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Qualifications
  • Possess from an accredited institution: Bachelor's degree(s) or higher and two years of professional experience, and/or otherspecifications as noted, or specifically named associate degree(s) and six years of professional experience. The professional experience required must be directly related to the facultymember's teaching assignment. Professional experience is required when the applicant possesses a master's degree, OR
  • Possess a valid California Community College credential, OR
  • The equivalent (applicants who do not meet the above minimum qualifications must complete the Equivalencies Section in the application form).

Additional Qualifications
  • Experience in teaching students from diverse ethnic andcultural backgrounds and widely varying levels of proficiencypreferred.
  • A working knowledge of and experience with student learningoutcomes and assessment.
