Job summary

UAB St. Vincent’s Birmingham, a key part of UAB Medicine, seeks a licensed Physical Therapist to evaluate and treat patients according to prescribed therapy plans.

You will conduct initial and ongoing assessments, develop and adjust plans of care with patient/family, and supervise PT assistants and students. The role requires Alabama PT licensure and BLS within 30 days, with an 8-hour shift and rotating weekends/holidays at UAB St. Vincent's Birmingham.

Qualifications

• BLS Provider certification within 30 days of hire date.
• Currently registered as a Physical Therapist by the Alabama Board of Physical Therapy.
• Graduate from an accredited School of Physical Therapy.

• Establish, revise and evaluate a plan of care involving the patient/family.

What You Will Do

Evaluate and conduct medically prescribed physical therapy treatment programs.

• Perform initial and on-going assessments of patient's condition.
• Establish, revise and evaluate a plan of care which is appropriate to problems identified and involve the patient/family.
• Perform therapy intervention utilizing standard physical therapy techniques and skills as appropriate for the condition of the patient.
• Oversee activities of physical therapy assistants, students and other support personnel.

What You Will Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Currently registered as a Registered Physical Therapist (PT) or (RPT) by the State of Alabama Board of Physical Therapy required.

Education

• Graduate from an accredited School of Physical Therapy required.
