Job description

Summary

Provides support to HCCS faculty and staff with their visual needs in all aspects of photography: print-based, Internet, classroom, and all other visual media.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Perform various photographic and audiovisual tasks as necessary for project completion in accordance with department procedures and user preferences.
  2. Assist users in developing projects by providing technical assistance and suggested methods for timely completion.
  3. Perform photographic and audiovisual production services for internal advertising, public relations, and other media presentations.
  4. Maintain and utilize black and white darkroom for processing and printing.
  5. Serve as backup and assist department staff in activities including graphic arts, audio, and video production.
  6. Recommend equipment and supply needs to supervisor.
  7. Maintain records of materials used and time spent on projects.
  8. Perform digital imaging, retouching, printing, and traditional printing.
  9. Invoice clients (internal and external).
  10. Position requires extensive local travel.
Qualifications
Education

High school diploma or GED required; some college preferred.

Experience

Minimum of 3 years full-time professional photography experience. Submission of recent professional assignments/projects and a portfolio required at interview.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Familiarity with all aspects of photography including studio and location lighting, portraiture, and composition.
  • Knowledge of computer-based imaging, digital retouching, printing, and enhancement.
  • Proficiency in software such as Photoshop, Lightroom, Illustrator, etc.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Internet programming for web use.
  • Ability to produce instructional and public relations media packages.

Working Conditions

Office environment; ability to perform all job requirements with or without accommodations; ability to move items up to 25 pounds; operate equipment; may require after-hours work including weekends and holidays.
