Job summary

The Allentown School District is seeking a Part-Time Paraprofessional (Instructional Support) at Dodd Elementary School. Starting pay is $21.12 per hour.

The role supports teachers by providing instructional assistance, safety, and a conducive learning environment for students. Qualifications include meeting federal paraprofessional standards, basic reading/writing/math proficiency, required clearances, and eligibility to work in the U.S.

Qualifications

• Must meet educational requirements for highly qualified paraprofessional.
• Must meet basic reading, writing, and math competencies.
• Valid Act 34, 114, and Act 151 clearances.
• Valid tuberculosis test and physical examination with ADA reasonable accommodations stipulated, as appropriate.
• U. S. citizen or holder of a valid work visa.

Responsibilities

• Assist the principal and other professionals in maintaining a safe and orderly, but non-oppressive, environment in the school.
• Assist the principal and other professionals in the delivery of appropriate instructional and tutorial strategies.
• Assist all students in building routines and in mastery of instructional materials involving ESOL, Title, special education, library, reading and related areas.
• Respond appropriately to emergency situations as per standing orders and other policies and procedures.
• Performs such other tasks and assumes such other responsibilities as may be assigned or delegated by the Superintendent of Schools or principal.

• Must meet basic reading, writing, and math competencies.
