Job summary

Allentown School District is seeking a Part Time Paraprofessional (Cafeteria) to assist in creating a safe, supportive atmosphere for students in cafeterias, playgrounds, bus areas and other settings as assigned by the principal. Starting hourly rate is $21.22/hr.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, Act 34/114/151 clearances, TB test and physical, and eligibility to work in the U.S. The duties include supporting the principal to maintain a safe environment and promote positive social

Qualifications

• Minimum of a high school diploma, GED or equivalent.
• Valid Act 34, 114, and Act 151 clearances.
• Valid tuberculosis test and physical examination with ADA reasonable accommodations stipulated, as appropriate.
• U. S. citizen or holder of a valid work visa.
• Additional qualifications may be determined by the board or superintendent.

Responsibilities

• Assist the principal in maintaining a safe, orderly, but non-oppressive environment in the cafeteria and on school property.
• Assist the principal in developing appropriate social behavior in the cafeteria and on school property.
• Respond to emergency situations per standing orders and policies.
• Perform other tasks assigned by the Superintendent of Schools or principal.
