Join to apply for the PT Outbound Freight Handler role at Southeastern Freight Lines.

As a PT Outbound Freight Handler, you will load and unload freight onto and off of equipment, as well as assist in the recouping of damaged freight.

Responsibilities include preparing, sweeping, inspecting, and cleaning trailers before loading freight. Use safe lifting techniques to load and unload freight. Select and use proper freight handling equipment such as forklifts, hand trucks, drum trucks, pallet jacks, and rollers to move, load, and unload freight. Plan cube utilization and proper weight distribution when loading freight. Count and inspect freight, documenting shortages or damage. Review freight bills for special instructions, check manifests for exceptions, and verify labels and destination codes against freight bills. Check for special instructions, weight distributions, and hazardous material details, ensuring proper placarding and documentation. Properly block and brace freight to prevent shifting during transport.

Qualifications include a High School Diploma or GED. Ability to pass a background check and drug test is required. Prior experience as a Forklift Operator, Dock or Warehouse Worker, or Material Handler is preferred. Forklift Certification is also preferred.

Pay: $17.35-$20.85 Per Hour
