Job summary

Kentucky River Foothills Development Council is seeking a PT/Non-Exempt Nutrition Program Coordinator for the Senior Citizens Center. You will coordinate the nutrition program, serve congregate meals, and package home-delivered meals in accordance with federal and state regulations.

Responsibilities include daily and monthly reporting, delivering meals to homebound clients, and supervising kitchen volunteers.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Food handler’s certification required upon hire and ongoing.
  • Experience serving congregate and/or home-delivered meals preferred.

Reports to: Senior Citizens Center DirectorPay Description: PT/Non-ExemptSummary: Responsible for coordinating the nutrition program according to federal and state regulations.Essential Duties:Responsible for serving congregate meals and packaging of home delivered meals according to federal and state regulations.Responsible for completing daily site report and monthly nutrition report.Deliver homebound meals/emergency meals to those in need.Provide escort for medical or other essential services.Document all functions/activities through prescribed record keeping.Supervises kitchen volunteers during all phases of food service and cleanup.Maintain kitchen inventory of necessary food, supplies, and equipment.Perform general cleaning and maintenance of kitchen and dining area.Complete training as required by state and federal regulations.Covers the Senior Center when the Director is out.Must learn Department for Aging and Independent Living (DAIL) computer programs to provide back up to the Director when needed.Must maintain a current Food Handler’s Certification.Conforms with all health and safety regulations and keeps supervisor updated regarding changes or additions.Participates in program and/or agency fundraising activities as directed by supervisor.Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.Education, Experience & Training:High School diploma or GED required. Food service experience or prior experience serving congregate and/or home delivered meals preferred. Experience working with the elderly helpful. Must obtain food handler’s certification upon hire and must maintain certification on-going during employment.Physical Demands:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Position requires occasional or frequent moderate physical activity. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and use hands to manipulate, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to lift and/or exert force up to 40 pounds.Other Requirements:Must have a valid driver’s license and the flexibility and willingness to change schedules and duties as needed according to staff availability. Must be willing to travel the service area as needed. Travel is primarily local or within the service area during the business day, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be expected.Agency policy regarding drug and alcohol testing and criminal background checks applies to this position. Must maintain a high level of professionalism, demonstrated by a positive attitude, ability to function as a team member, and a commitment to the overall mission of the agency.
