Job Overview

The Night Auditor is responsible for auditing, balancing, and reporting on various hotel operations, including food and beverage outlets, front desk, and gift shop, ensuring accuracy, adherence to policies, and prevention of fraud. The role also involves guest service duties such as greeting guests, handling check-ins and check-outs, and responding to inquiries via phone and in person.

Responsibilities

  • Audit, balance, and report on all food and beverage cash and credit operations, including checks, deposits, house charges, and promotional materials, ensuring accuracy and resetting registers.
  • Audit, balance, post, and report on front desk transactions such as room charges, phone calls, adjustments, taxes, and deposits to ensure accuracy and proper cash handling.
  • Audit, balance, and prepare reports on room information, and input statistics and income data for daily reports.
  • Balance and close bank ticket codes daily and run night audit final to ensure all revenues are balanced.
  • Greet guests, complete check-in procedures, and ensure guest satisfaction and room readiness.
  • Facilitate guest departures by closing guest accounts and preparing rooms for new guests.
  • Maintain good customer relations by staying informed about hotel events and responding to guest inquiries promptly.
  • Operate PBX equipment, handle calls, schedule wake-up calls, and assist guests as needed.
  • Perform duties of a Front Desk Clerk, including express checkouts.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Accounting experience preferred but not required.
  • Ability to operate computers, cash registers, and calculators.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Moderate hearing required; good vision for reading reports and screens.
  • Ability to stand for long periods, bend, kneel, and lift up to 25 lbs.

The physical demands include prolonged standing, mobility to reach all hotel areas, and occasional lifting. Reasonable accommodations can be made for individuals with disabilities.
