Job summary

Apple Federal Credit Union is seeking a part-time teller at the Kingstowne Branch to assist members with cash transactions, deposits, withdrawals and loan payments while delivering friendly service.

You will balance cash, post transactions, maintain member records, and guide members to the right department. The role requires attention to detail, confidentiality, and strong interpersonal skills to cross-sell services.

Qualifications

• Experience: One year to three years of similar or related experience.
• Education: A high school education or GED.
• Interpersonal Skills: diplomacy and tact in communication.
• Other Skills: Ten-key calculator and touch typing; detail-oriented with numbers.

• Receives and processes customer financial transactions, including deposits, withdrawals and loan payments.
• Balances cash drawer and daily transactions.
• Post transactions to member accounts and maintain member records.
• Welcomes members and provides routine information and directs to appropriate department.
• Cross-sells Credit Union services.
• Performs miscellaneous tasks including typing, filing, computer input and answering the telephone.
• Other duties as assigned.

Role:

To assist members with their financial transactions, involving paying and receiving cash and other negotiable instruments.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

• Receives and processes customer financial transactions, including deposits, withdrawals and loan payments; sells money orders and travelers checks to members; transfers amounts from member accounts as directed.
• Balances cash drawer and daily transactions.
• Post transactions to member accounts and maintain member records.
• Welcomes members and provides routine information concerning services and directs member to appropriate department for specific information and service.
• Cross-sells Credit Union services.
• Performs a variety of miscellaneous tasks including typing, filing, computer input and answering the telephone.
• Other duties as assigned.

Performance Measurements:

1. To provide friendly, professional, personal service to all customers.

2. To balance at least XX% of the time, being no more then $X off and with total offages not to exceed $XX in a X month period.

3. To handle an established XX% of branch/department transactions as determined by department head to be measured in performance evaluation goals.

4. To strive for posting accuracy, measurement to be determined by department head and to be measured in performance evaluation goals.

5. To troubleshoot and resolve customer and internal inquiries in a timely, friendly and accurate manner.

6. To make a minimum of X sales referrals per month.

7. To make a minimum of X investment referrals per month.

8. To maintain a dependable record of attendance and timeliness.

Knowledge and Skills:

Experience - One year to three years of similar or related experience.

Education - A high school education or GED.

Interpersonal Skills - Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for the purpose of first-level conflict resolution, building relationships, and soliciting cooperation. Discussions involve a higher degree of confidentiality and discretion, requiring diplomacy and tact in communication.

Other Skills - Ten key calculator and computer keyboard by touch. Must be good with detail to deal with numbers and names.
