Virtua Health in Medford is seeking a part-time Medical Assistant to support clinicians with patient intake, vital signs, and basic procedures. You will assist with phlebotomy, vaccines, and diagnostic tests under physician supervision, while also handling front desk tasks and patient communications.

Minimum 0–2 years in a medical office, HS diploma or equivalent, and current Medical Assistant certification with BLS required. Salary ranges are hourly and benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent required.
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• Current certification/registration as a Medical Assistant; BLS required.

Responsabilités

• Prepares patient for exam by obtaining vital signs and documenting chief complaint.
• Performs phlebotomy, vaccines, and diagnostic tests (EKG, PFT) under physician supervision.
• Screens and directs patient calls and communicates prescriptions and test results.
• Performs daily regulatory testing and ensures equipment accuracy.
• Maintains clinical supplies and supports front desk duties (registration, billing, scheduling).

Job Information

Prepares patient and assists clinical provider with patient examination by obtaining and documenting vital signs, past medical history, social history and chief complaint. Performs various clinical tasks within the scope of their certification and under the supervision of the physician.

Position Responsibilities

• Prepares patient for exam by obtaining and documenting vital signs, and chief complaint, and preparing patient for provider exam. Prepares exam room as required based on chief complaint.
• Performs phlebotomy and obtains specimens for processing. Administers vaccines and completes required documentation. Performs diagnostic tests such as EKG, Pulmonary Function, etc. as directed and under the supervision of the physician.
• Screens and directs patient calls according to established protocol. Contacts patients regarding prescriptions and testing results as directed by and under the supervision of the physician.
• Performs daily regulatory testing as required and documents accordingly, to ensure that clinical equipment is accurate and compliant.
• Maintains par level of clinical supplies for facility.
• Performs front desk duties as directed which may include registering patients, billing, and appointment scheduling.

Position Qualifications

0-2 years of similar job experience in a medical office preferred.

Required Education: HS diploma or equivalent. Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program or Virtua Health Medical Assistant Program.

Training/Certifications/Licensure: Current certification/registration as a Medical Assistant. In the state of DE, certification is required within 1 year of hire. BLS Certification required.

Hourly Rate: $19.54 - $29.20 The actual salary/rate will vary based on applicant’s experience as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
