Job summary

MAITLAND HOTEL OPERATORS LLC (Homewood Suites) is seeking a housekeeping associate to perform routine cleaning and servicing of assigned areas and assist guests with needs. Duties include cleaning exterior areas, restrooms, windows, and sidewalks, as well as supporting maintenance tasks and safety procedures.

The role requires physical stamina, the ability to follow schedules, and effective communication with guests and team members.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Empty exterior trash receptacles and ashtrays.
• Clean exterior walkways, railings, and EXIT doors.
• Clean public restrooms as needed.
• Wash first floor windows as needed.
• Maintain cleanliness of guest areas and property surroundings.
• Report to Chief Engineer any necessary information.
• Assist with deep cleaning and moving furniture/equipment.
• Assist in securing the exterior during weather emergencies.
• Perform routine plumbing repairs and maintenance tasks as directed.

Summary

Performs routine duties in the cleaning andservicing of any area which may be assigned; supplies area with items which arerequired for the convenience and comfort of the guest.

Job Duties

• Emptiesall exterior trash receptacles and ashtrays
• Cleansall outside area walkways; cleans railings and washes all EXIT doors.
• Cleanspublic restrooms as needed
• Washesfirst floor windows as needed
• Cleansand scrubs sidewalks of spills and stains
• Maintaincleanliness of guest grills and ensure stock of gas, assist guests as needed
• Removalof all trash from parking lot, landscaping and around the building
• Removalof cigarette butts as needed throughout the building exterior
• Cleanout pet disposal containers and removal of pet waste as needed
• Patrolspool area –empties garbage, removes used towels and replaces as necessary, wipingof tables, chairs, drinking fountains, equipment, pool deck, fence etc.
• Reportsto Chief Engineer any necessary information.
• Reportsexterior items that require repair to Chief Engineer
• Waterplants and weed as needed
• Turnsin all lost and found articles immediately as per proper procedure.
• Operatesa light power washer
• Maintaincleanliness of pond on the property – clean out trash on regular basis
• Ensuredumpster area is cleaned and maintained to keep out wildlife and ensure lockedand secured at all times
• Securityof hotel grounds. See something saysomething. Report any trespassers orstrange behavior to manager on duty.
• Assistswith deep cleaning efforts including moving furniture and equipment
• Assistsengineer with handling items/equipment which require team lifting.
• Assistin securing the exterior of the hotel in times of weather extremes oremergencies
• Performs routine plumbing repairs, including installation oftoilet, sinks, and other hardware & fixtures, and laundry/kitchen equipment.
• Updates engineering log during assigned shift.
• Assists Chief Engineer in administration of an on-going preventivemaintenance program for equipment and guest rooms.
• Performs preventive maintenance assignments on a scheduled basisas per brand specific standards.
• Services the hotel’s pool, including adjusting chemicals andcleaning filters.
• Completes maintenance logs and follows the tracking system/Quore.
• Additional duties may be added at any time at the discretion of management.

Consistently models the behavior of a ‘Baywood Ambassador’ who:

• Maintainsa professional image, including grooming, verbiage, and body language, at alltimes.
• Warmlygreets both guests and coworkers (using the 10/5, first & last rule) everytime they come in contact.
• Activelylistens to guests, responding appropriately to their questions and/or concerns.Seeks guidance and/or assistance from others to ensure satisfaction.
• Fosters teamwork by offering assistance toothers, as needed.
• Continuouslymonitors the surroundings at work, in order to identify any cleanliness,safety, security, or building upkeep issues.Reports discrepancies to the proper department.
• Contributesto a safe work environment by following proper safety guidelines in matters ofattire, utilizing protective gear, and following safety procedures.
• Recommendsother Baywood properties to our guests, when appropriate.
• Makesa genuine effort to identify and seize each golden opportunity to ‘WOW the guest!’ demonstrating ourmotto ‘It’s Better at Baywood!’

Skills/Qualifications

Educational/Vocational Preparation:

• Some high school education (grade 9) preferred

• Abilityto read and understand and communicate chemical labels, and Safety Data Sheets,Instructions.
