The Chester County Intermediate Unit (CCIU) has an opening for a part-time Instructional Assistant within the Division of Student Services. Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED (required)
  • Experience working with secondary students (preferred)
  • Current police, child abuse, & FBI fingerprint clearances (within one year, required before start date)
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assist students with varying abilities and support needs in implementing educational and skills programming in a special education environment
  • Work independently and as part of a team in an educational setting
  • Assist the Teacher by:
    • Preparing instructional materials
    • Maintaining discipline and managing behavior
    • Arranging the learning environment
    • Maintaining equipment and technology used in instruction
    • Administering educational assessments
    • Performing other duties as assigned
  • Assist with Students by:
    • Working with individual students or small groups on activities assigned by the teacher
    • Supervising students during non-instructional times, such as lunchtime or entry/exit, within program regulations
Schedule:
  • Monday - Friday, 185 days per year, 6.5 hours per day

Hourly Rate (2024-2025 School Year):

The IA pay scale is as follows:

  • 0-9 years experience = $18.35
  • 10-13 years experience = $20.16
  • 14-17 years experience = $21.97
  • 18-21 years experience = $23.78
  • 22-25 years experience = $23.78
  • Bachelor's degree (equivalent to 9 yrs experience) = $18.35
  • Master's degree (equivalent to 15 yrs experience) = $21.97
