Job Title: PT Inbound Freight Handler at Southeastern Freight Lines

Job Responsibilities:

  1. Load and unload freight onto and off equipment, assisting in recouping damaged freight.
  2. Prepare, inspect, sweep, and clean trailers before loading freight.
  3. Use safe lifting techniques and proper handling equipment such as forklifts, hand trucks, drum trucks, pallet jacks, and rollers.
  4. Plan cube utilization and weight distribution during loading.
  5. Count, inspect, and document freight condition, shortages, or damages.
  6. Review freight bills, manifests, and check for special instructions, including hazardous materials and proper placarding.
  7. Properly block and brace freight to prevent shifting during transport.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Ability to pass background check and drug test.
  • Prior experience as a Forklift Operator, Dock or Warehouse Worker, or Material Handler is preferred.
  • Forklift Certification is a plus.

Compensation: $17.35 - $20.85 per hour

Work Schedule: First Shift, Part-Time
