Job summary

Aparium Hotel Group is seeking a friendly and service-minded Host for Salt Harvest in Seattle. You will welcome guests, manage reservations, and coordinate with the Food & Beverage team to ensure a memorable arrival experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year of experience as a Host in a restaurant or hotel setting.
• Experience taking, making and executing reservations in a reservation platform.
• Fluency in English (verbal and written).
• Ability to stand/walk for long periods and lift up to 30 lbs.
• Availability to work weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Uphold and model company principles of People, Place and Character; drive collaboration and hospitality.
• Greet guests and manage host stand set-up; review reservations and requests.
• Participate in daily lineups and team meetings to align service goals.
• Inspect dining areas and maintain cleanliness before service.
• Know menus and respond to guest questions; assist in other F&B areas as needed.

PT HOST AT SALT HARVEST
Reports to Restaurant Manager; position is non-exempt

THE ROLE
The Host reports to Food + Beverage Leadership and works in a team environment with other F+B.It is critical the person in this position possesses a background and knowledge in Host techniques and has a natural ability to manage time.As the gate keeper to our venues, you play an integral part of a team of hospitality professionals. You work collaboratively with the team to ensure the arrival experience is personalized and memorable.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Uphold and model the company’s principles of People, Place and Character, driving collaboration, intuition, and translocal hospitality.
• Assist in all aspects of a guest’s experience from beginning to end by extending a friendly greeting in an inviting environment, ensuring proper set-up the host stand and room, reviewing reservations and on requests in a friendly and timely manner
• Participate in daily lineups and staff meetings to further develop ideas and objectives with the service team
• Inspect the cleanliness of each section and private dining room and check each table prior to opening to ensure its properly set
• Pick up the daily menus and inspect every menu and list to ensure their condition and appearance
• Develop a complete working knowledge of the menus, menu ingredients and what is unavailable for the day
• Know the server stations, their daily assignments, their personal timing patterns, and their maximum workload capacity
• Answer telephones according to hotel standard and take reservations or provide information regarding the restaurant or any other hotel service
• Observe conditions of all physical facilities and relay any challenges to the food and beverage leadership team to make corrections and improvements as needed
• Assist in other areas of the F&B Department as needed

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

• Passion for the People, Place and Culture of our community, love of restaurants and guest service also required
• Minimum of one (1) years of experience as a Host in either a free-standing or hotel restaurant
• Experience with taking, making, and executing reservations in a reservation platform
• Availability to work a flexible schedule to include weekends and holidays
• Fluency in English, verbal and written
• Ability to continuously stand and/or walk for the majority of a shift
• Ability to lift and/or carry 30 lbs. (chair, table, tray, crate, box, etc.)
