BERKELEY COUNTY GOVERNMENT in Moncks Corner is seeking a part-time Grounds Maintenance Worker to perform routine building and grounds upkeep across facilities. Duties include planting, mowing, painting, and minor repairs, with emphasis on safety and regulatory compliance.
The role requires basic reading/writing, the ability to follow instructions, and a valid SC driver's license. Typical hours are Monday–Friday, up to 29 hours per week, with potential for additional duties during emergencies.
This position typically provides routine building and grounds maintenance on all facilities; and deals courteously and effectively with fellow employees and citizens.
This position requires the employee to reach, pull and push with hands and arms; stand; walk; use hands to handle, feel, grasp or operate objects, tools or controls; sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; use mental acuity and repetitive motion; and talk and hear. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to ninety-five (95) pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.The work is regularly performed in a dynamic environment that requires sensitivity to change and responsiveness to changing goals, priorities and needs.
This position does not exceed twenty-nine (29) hours per week.
Normal working hours are Monday through Friday 7:30am to 4:00pm. Scheduled hours/days, job location, duties and any other information contained herein is subject to change. May be required to work extra hours and to perform extra or different duties during emergency situations.
