Job summary

Ken's BiLo Foods is seeking a part-time Grocery Associate to help manage inventory, merchandise products, and deliver excellent customer service. You will support the Grocery Department Leader in organizing stock, assisting with displays, and ensuring accurate pricing and signage.

The role requires a proactive, friendly team member who can work in a fast-paced retail setting, including weekends and holidays as needed.

Position Overview:

The Grocery Associate will play a vital role in supporting the Grocery Department Leader in managing inventory, merchandising products, and providing excellent customer service. The Grocery Associate’s dedication to organization and customer satisfaction will contribute to the success of the Grocery and Frozen Foods departments and ensure a positive shopping experience for our customers.

Responsibilities:

• Receiving and Inventory Management:Assist in monitoring and maintaining inventory levels for grocery products, ensuring adequate stock and minimizing shortages.
• Participate in receiving and organizing merchandise deliveries, verifying accuracy and quality of products.
• Conduct regular inventory counts and assist in restocking merchandise as needed.
• Product Merchandising:Collaborate with the Grocery Department Manager to plan and execute visually appealing displays and product promotions.
• Ensure proper pricing, signage, and product placement to attract customer attention and increase sales.
• Assist in setting up seasonal displays and promotions.
• Customer Service:Provide friendly and helpful assistance to customers, answering questions about grocery products and helping them find items.
• Offer product recommendations based on customer preferences and needs.
• Handle customer inquiries and complaints, ensuring a positive shopping experience.
• Health and Safety Compliance:Follow health and safety regulations, including proper handling and storage of Grocery products.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in the Grocery department, adhering to safety standards.
• Product Knowledge:Stay informed about grocery products, features, and benefits to assist customers effectively.Continuously learn about new product arrivals and changes in inventory.
• Support to Manager:Assist the Grocery Department Manager in organizing and maintaining records, including inventory reports and sales data.
• Collaborate with the manager on product ordering and vendor communication.
• Front-End Support:Provide support to the front-end associates during busy periods, including cashiering, bagging, and restocking impulse items.
• Collaboration:Work closely with other team members and departments to ensure smooth store operations and promote a positive work environment.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in retail or a similar environment is preferred but not required.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Excellent customer service and communication abilities.
• Basic knowledge of inventory management and merchandising principles.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Flexibility to work in shifts, including weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed.
• Physical stamina to stand for extended periods, lift and carry moderate weights, and perform repetitive tasks.
