Primary Purpose

Provide fast, easy, flexible, and friendly service to our customers through the achievement of Food Lion customer service standards. Responsible for assisting the Food Lion To-Go Lead in maintaining standards according to Food Lion's standard practice manual. Maximize sales through excellent customer service.

Duties And Responsibilities

• Greet each customer with a smile, using their name when possible, and provide prompt, accurate, and friendly service to create a positive shopping experience.
• Exhibit behaviors aligned with Food Lion's guiding principles, core values, vision, and strategy.
• Shop multiple customer orders efficiently using designated tools and equipment.
• Recognize and differentiate between types of produce, including varieties of similar products.
• Substitute items upon request.
• Scan, bag, and label purchases accurately, following company policies.
• Verify customer IDs and adhere to store policies regarding alcohol sales.
• Assist customers with order pickups.
• Complete Accountability Forms from start to finish.
• Be courteous and helpful to colleagues.
• Wear the Food Lion uniform with apron, name badge, and maintain a neat appearance according to dress code.
• Control store expenses by properly using supplies.
• Follow all company policies and guidelines.
• Observe and correct unsafe conditions to prevent accidents.
• Report cleaning or maintenance issues to QA.
• Complete required Computer Based Training (CBT) and Training Aid courses.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Meet physical requirements of the role, with or without accommodations.

Qualifications

Physical Requirements

• Use of computers, smart devices, and communication systems.
• Perform repetitive hand and arm motions.
• Lift up to 15 lbs. continuously, 25 lbs. frequently, and 50 lbs. occasionally.
• Push or pull up to 75 lbs. occasionally.
• Handle substances related to cleaning, packaging, produce, and household items.
• Stand continuously, with frequent walking.
• Reach and grasp at various heights.
• Work in extreme temperatures for up to 20 minutes.
• Visual ability to check IDs.
