The primary purpose of this job is to operate carts, containers, kitchen utensils, ovens, fryers, roasters, slicers, scales, and cash registers to weigh, slice, cook, make sandwiches or grinders, and serve deli food. The team member must be able to perform all tasks and operate all equipment associated with this position.

Duties and Responsibilities

Essential Functions

• Review work schedule, check equipment and supplies, comply with PPE requirements, and prepare for duties at the start of each shift.
• Make sandwiches, subs, roast or fry chicken, heat soup, prepare pizza, transfer deli food to containers, label, and merchandise as per plan-o-gram (POG).
• Serve customers, slice meat or cheese, weigh, wrap, label orders, and package deli food.
• Work in the grab-and-go lunch meat and cheeses section.
• Produce products for sales floor warmers and hot bar as per POG and SOP.
• Clean and sanitize all surfaces, tools, equipment, display cases, floors, and counters.
• Track and record loss using known loss tracking (KLT).

Job Tasks

• Make sandwiches, rollups, grinders, wraps; label and display them.
• Prepare and cook pizza, serve to customers.
• Assist customers, cut and slice meat or cheese, portion and label deli items.
• Handle chicken, roast, fry, and package it, following safety procedures.
• Clean equipment and work areas regularly, including every 4 hours as specified.
• Order and produce smoked products as per SOP.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation using cleaning tools and sanitizers.
• Perform record-keeping and loss tracking functions.

General Rules

• Report accidents and injuries promptly.
• Follow safety and sanitation procedures, including PPE use.
• Follow company policies, including dress code and safety protocols.
• Know emergency procedures and evacuation routes.
• Complete required training such as Lockout/Tagout, Confined Space, and Right-to-Know.

Qualifications

• Authorized to work in the U.S.
• Ability to communicate effectively and understand safety regulations.
• Meet ergonomic and physical requirements, with or without accommodations.
• Meet performance standards, including attendance.
• Ability to operate necessary equipment and tools.

Physical Requirements

• Minimum 4-hour shifts, with maximum physical exertion.
• Lift/carry up to 50 lbs.
• Stand for 55%, walk for 45% of the shift.
• Work in varying temperatures, including freezer and back room environments.

Preferred Requirements

• Understanding of company policies and procedures.
