Job Description:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Work with the pharmacy manager to control inventories by tracking weekly sales and ordering pharmaceutical stock to meet customer demand and maximize profits.
2. Weigh, measure, and mix drugs and other medical compounds; fill bottles with correct quantities and compositions; advise self-medicating patients; dispense non-prescription medications; and maintain communication with health and insurance professionals.
3. Perform patient immunizations regularly.
4. In the absence of the Pharmacy Manager, schedule pharmacy associates, recognize and discipline staff as needed, and assign work to utilize skills effectively while meeting company profit goals.
5. Assist in training and developing department personnel to improve performance, reduce turnover, and control labor costs.
6. Monitor and improve operations to control department expenses, meet labor goals, and reduce losses due to shrinkage.
7. Respond to customer complaints and questions courteously, provide counseling on prescription issues, and collaborate with the pharmacy manager to improve customer service.
8. Maintain a safe and clean department following health, OSHA, and company standards.
9. Keep accurate records and submit required reports related to department activities and associate performance.
10. Ensure smooth department and store operations through cooperation and continuous performance improvement.
11. Perform any additional duties of staff as required.

This position currently has no supervisory responsibilities.
