Job Summary

The Department of General Education at the University of West Georgia invites applications for part‑time Instructors of Mathematics. The appointments will begin in Fall 2024 and may be renewed. The positions are contingent on funding and enrollment.

Responsibilities
  • The successful candidate will teach three to seven credit‑hours of mathematics courses per semester in Carrollton, Newnan, Douglasville, and/or Heard County.
  • The principal modality of instruction will be face‑to‑face, but some sections may be hybrid or fully online.
  • Most students will be dual‑enrolled students participating in the University of West Georgia’s Go West Early campaign.
Required Qualifications
  • Earned a master’s degree in mathematics, mathematics education, or a closely related field, or have a strong academic preparation in mathematics (at least 18 semester credit hours in mathematics at the graduate level).
  • Must be eligible for employment in the United States at the time of appointment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Passionate about teaching lower‑division mathematics courses.
  • Experience in college‑level teaching is desired, along with knowledge of technology applications in mathematics classrooms.
  • Prior teaching experience and a demonstrated commitment to student success.
