PT Faculty Environmental Science & Sustainability

What we’re looking for:

Harrisburg University of Science and Technology (HU) is a STEM university committed to innovative, future-focused education. We seek a Part Time Faculty – Environmental Science & Sustainability dedicated to fostering critical thinking in an evolving, learner-centric environment. The ideal candidate is characterized by:

Classes Available – Harrisburg Campus

The courses are primarily on-site, with potential for hybrid formats based on expertise and innovation.

ENVS 230 – Soils in the Critical Zone: MWF 1-hour lecture and W 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm lab (on-site required, 4 credits). This course explores soil science, environmental science, and geology, focusing on the 'Critical Zone' where water, rock, biology, and atmosphere interact as a system.

The pay structure depends on degree level, enrollment, and credits.

Nice to have:

The candidate should have at least a master's degree, with preferred experience in cross-contextual teaching. Evidence of innovation, entrepreneurial mindset, and a commitment to active learning are essential. Candidates should demonstrate autonomy, organizational leadership, integrity, emotional intelligence, and a passion for shaping higher education.
