Job summary

Groovin' Gourmets, the catering division of Trolley Hospitality Companies, is seeking flexible Event Servers for off-site weddings, corporate events, and parties across Hampton Roads. Earn $16/hour plus tips with events that fit your schedule.

You’ll help set up and break down events, serve food and beverages, learn the catering menu, assist guests, and keep spaces clean and stocked. Previous catering experience is helpful but not required.

Qualifications

• Dependable and show up for shifts you commit to.
• Customer service experience is helpful but not required.
• Able to work evenings and weekends, lift up to 50 pounds when needed.

Looking for a flexible second job where you can pick up shifts around work, school, family, or other commitments? Our Event Servers work off-site weddings, corporate events, parties, and celebrations at beautiful and unique venues throughout the Hampton Roads area, so you're not working in the same banquet room every shift.

What You'll Do

As an Event Server with Groovin' Gourmets, you'll help make sure our events run smoothly and guests have a great experience. Depending on the event, you'll:

• Help set up and break down events
• Serve food and beverages and assist guests
• Learn our catering menu and answer basic questions about the food being served
• Keep event spaces clean, organized, and well stocked
• Work as part of a team to take care of the details from start to finish

Events are often held during evenings and weekends, although timing varies. You'll need to be comfortable being on your feet and lifting/moving up to 25 pounds regularly and occasionally up to 50 pounds.

What We're Looking For

You don't need years of catering experience. We're looking for people who:

• Are dependable and show up when they've committed to a shift
• Enjoy working with people and providing great service
• Can follow directions while also jumping in where needed
• Pay attention to the little things
• Have a positive, can-do attitude

Previous catering, banquet, restaurant, or customer service experience is helpful, but not required.
