Job description

The Facilities department is seeking part-time custodial staff to perform routine cleaning and housekeeping work to ensure that county-owned buildings maintain a clean and presentable appearance. This position requires availability from 4 pm to 7 pm, Monday thru Friday, totaling 15 hours per week.

A Criminal background check is required.

Responsibilities:
  • Vacuum buildings and offices.
  • Maintain clean and dust-free floors and carpeting.
  • Maintain clean walls and woodwork.
  • Provide trash removal and recycle removal.
  • Clean and mop bathrooms daily.
  • Stock bathrooms with soap and paper products.
  • Provide dusting as needed.
  • Perform other duties, tasks, and special projects, as required.
Qualifications / Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
  • One to six months of related experience and training.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple instructions.
  • Ability to follow checklists provided by supervisor.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Ability to follow procedures as directed for mixing cleaners and building cleaning.
  • Ability to read and understand instructions on labels (cleaning products).
  • Ability to run certain machinery for cleaning purposes.
  • Manual dexterity (sufficient to reach/handle items and work with fingers).
Preferred Skills, Knowledge & Experience:
  • Ability to run equipment (buffer, vacuum, etc.).
  • Three years of experience preferred.
  • Flexibility.
  • Basic time management skills.
  • Ability to establish priorities and remain focused.
  • Able to carry tasks to completion.

Relevant background checks, clearances, physicals, drug tests, and any other assessments or evaluations will be conducted after an offer of employment is given per County policy.
