DEFINITION:

To provide classroom and online instruction to students using multiple teaching strategies and perform accurate assessment of student learning.

**This posting is for a position to teach Evening Classes at our Surf City Campus**
SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED:
  • Receives general supervision from Department Chair, English
  • Exercises no supervision.
ESSENTIAL AND OTHER IMPORTANT FUNCTIONS STATEMENTS:

Essential and other important responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:

Essential Functions:
  • Prepare and execute lessons, lectures, activities, and exercises for seated and/or online settings.
  • Develop and prepare tests to evaluate student performance. Grade and record individual scores.
  • Grade and return assignments and post grades in a prompt manner.
  • Provide prompt and appropriate professional correspondence to students and colleagues.
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance and performance. Maintain other records as required.
Other Important Functions:
  • Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned
  • Ability and willingness to teach online, hybrid or face to face courses as assigned.
  • Ability and willingness to work with developmental students.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge of:
  • Teaching techniques and procedures, including techniques using the internet and technology.
  • Current trends, research, and development in the area of assignment.
  • Principles of test development and administration.
Ability To:
  • Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course of work
  • Interpret and apply CFCC goals, objectives, policies, procedures, rules, and regulations
  • Maintain effective audio-visual discrimination and perception needed for:
    1. Making observations
    2. Reading and writing
    3. Communicating with others
    4. Operating assigned equipment
    5. Handling varied tasks simultaneously
  • Maintain physical condition appropriate to the performance of assigned duties and responsibilities, which may include the following:
    1. Standing or sitting for extended periods of time
    2. Operating assigned equipment
    3. Handling varied tasks simultaneously
    4. Physical stamina to teach classes in the face-to-face on campus class.
  • Maintain mental capacity, which allow the capability of:
    1. Making sound decisions
    2. Responding to questions
    3. Demonstrating intellectual capabilities
EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING GUIDELINES:

Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:
