PT-DO Division Leader (Manufacturing Manager 6)

Job Overview

The Pit Technologies (PT) Division Leader (DL) will provide strategic direction for the division, including a shared vision with the senior management team on program, capability, and workforce development to deliver and sustain rate production of at least 30 pits/year by 2028. The candidate will report directly to the Nuclear Production Senior Director (ALDWP-NP) and will ensure the division meets programmatic commitments, sets future organizational direction, and coordinates with key stakeholders to meet goals and objectives.

Responsibilities
  • Provide senior leadership to enable the workforce to succeed in division milestones and deliverables.
  • Offer technical leadership and foster innovation in pit manufacturing, developing the next generation of technical leaders.
  • Define and articulate strategic visions and goals, and develop supporting programs/projects.
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders to determine work scope, timeframes, and funding requirements.
  • Support the Laboratory's National Security mission as a proactive member of the leadership team.
  • Maintain and strengthen the division’s scientific and technical base.
  • Collaborate with division leaders and program managers for effective planning and integration.
  • Identify opportunities to influence policy and strategic direction.
  • Promote a positive work environment, mentor personnel, and support diversity and safety initiatives.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Expert knowledge in at least two areas: nuclear operations, stockpile stewardship, pit development, or related fields.
  • Proven experience in Conduct of Operations, strategic planning, leadership, stakeholder communication, cross-functional collaboration, change management, mission integration, and business operations.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Science with 12+ years of relevant experience or equivalent education and experience.
  • DOE Q-Clearance and HRP certification are required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in a related science or engineering field.
  • Demonstrated nuclear facility operations experience and high-level program representation skills.
  • Knowledge of LANL’s technical portfolio and national security missions.
  • Active security clearances and certifications.
Work Environment and Additional Details

This position is onsite in Los Alamos, NM, with a 1-year position commitment. Candidates must meet federal security and HRP requirements, including a background check and drug screening.
