Position Overview

This part-time position (25 hours/week) will provide coverage for the Drop-in Center. Youth Counselors create and supervise a safe, affirming environment for clients to meet their needs and progress on goals. Responsibilities include managing the Welcome Desk and providing general support to the Drop-in Center.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and supervise youth in the program to ensure a safe, clean, and secure environment.
  • Provide coverage for Welcome Desk & Reception at Drop-in for 5 hours/day.
  • Maintain a safe, respectful, hospitable, and professional atmosphere.
  • Help maintain consistency in service delivery and adherence to program policies.
  • Document daily services and maintain data as needed.
  • Communicate with treatment teams, IT, Facilities, and supervisors.
  • Attend mandatory staff meetings and supervision sessions.
Educational Requirements
  • High School diploma required.
  • Vocational Training, Undergraduate Degree, or Master’s Degree are not required but may be advantageous.
Technical Skills and Qualifications
  • Experience in youth social services required.
  • Computer skills and competent writing skills necessary.
  • Highly organized, able to work independently.
  • Experience working with adolescents/young adults.
  • Knowledge of psychosocial needs of LGBTQ/homeless populations is helpful.
  • Experience in individual and group behavioral counseling.
  • Flexible hours including weekends and holidays; must remain awake during shifts.
  • Transgender and gender non-conforming individuals, as well as Spanish speakers, are encouraged to apply.
