Overview

Wellstar Douglas Imaging Center in Douglasville, Georgia, is seeking a Part-Time Day Registered CT Technologist. The position is eligible for a sign-on bonus and relocation assistance. The technologist must be flexible with work hours to meet department needs, dependable, accountable, and cooperative. Responsibilities include providing safe, age-appropriate patient care, performing exams according to department procedures, and ensuring high-quality diagnostic studies. The role requires independent judgment, equipment setup, patient positioning, and adherence to safety protocols.

Core Responsibilities include:

  • Adjusting techniques to minimize radiation dose while maintaining image quality.
  • Reporting equipment malfunctions promptly.
  • Maintaining equipment hygiene according to infection control policies.

Patient Care duties involve:

  • Verifying orders and patient identity.
  • Gathering clinical history and assessing contraindications.
  • Administering contrast media safely.
  • Reviewing images, responding to emergencies, and assisting other modalities as needed.

Education and Communication

  • Explaining procedures to patients using AIDET principles.
  • Addressing patient questions and concerns.
  • Training department staff and documenting procedures accurately.

Quality Control

  • Producing acceptable images and maintaining equipment calibration.
  • Ensuring studies are sent to PACS promptly and completing documentation.

Operations

  • Restocking supplies, transporting and positioning patients, and performing clerical duties.
  • Applying shielding and immobilization devices.
  • Maintaining departmental standards and taking call as needed.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Graduate of AMA-approved Radiology Technology program.
  • At least 1 year of radiology experience, with CT experience preferred.
  • ARRT Radiography and CT certifications, BLS certification.
