Job summary

CENTERS, LLC is seeking a part-time custodian for evening shifts at the Sonnentag Center, UW–Eau Claire. You will perform cleaning, upkeep, and basic maintenance to support athletic and event operations on campus.

The role requires attention to detail, ability to work independently or with a team, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds. CPR/AED certification preferred or obtainable. Evening hours after 9 PM are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least one year of janitorial or custodial experience preferred.
• Knowledge of custodial operations and safety practices.
• Current American Red Cross CPR/AED/FA certification (or willing to obtain)

Responsibilities

• Daily cleaning and organization of the facility including offices and spaces.
• Upkeep, cleanliness, and disinfection of bathrooms and showers.
• Restock toilet paper, towels, and soap.
• Inventory and stocking of cleaning supplies.
• Daily maintenance of carpets, floors, and surfaces.
• Routine maintenance and upkeep of the building: patching, painting, minor repairs.
• Assist in annual facility maintenance and deep cleaning.
• Examine facility for safety hazards and report to supervisor.
• Perform minor maintenance for facility and equipment.

Responsibilities

Part‑Time Custodians are part of the operations team and one of the primary caretakers of the facility, responsible for custodial and janitorial operations. We're looking for reliable, detail‑oriented individuals who take pride in their work and are comfortable working independently or as part of a team. We are currently hiring custodians to join our team for evening shifts. Evening availability is required, and shifts begin after regular business hours.

This position will work on‑site at the University of Wisconsin‑Eau Claire’s Sonnentag Center, a major athletic, recreation, and event center, that opened in the summer of 2024. The new Sonnentag Center serves as a venue for university and community events, concerts, and home to Eau Claire Men’s and Women’s Athletics. This position is currently hiring for a night‑time position from 9pm - 12am.

Core Responsibilities:

• Responsible for daily cleaning and organization of the facility including offices, meeting rooms, multi‑purpose fitness and athletic spaces, and equipment
• Responsible for upkeep, cleanliness, and disinfecting of bathrooms, locker rooms, and/or showers
• Restock toilet paper, paper towels, and soap
• Responsible for inventory and stocking all cleaning and maintenance supplies
• Daily maintenance of all carpets, wooden floors, and synthetic surfaces
• Responsible for routine maintenance and upkeep of the building: patching, painting, minor repairs, etc.
• Responsible for assisting in the annual facility maintenance and deep cleaning
• Assists in examining facility for safety hazards; reports any needed service to supervisor
• Performs minor preventative maintenance for facility, custodial, and fitness equipment

Qualifications

Education and Experience

• A high school diploma or equivalent
• At least one year of janitorial or custodial experience preferred
• Knowledge of custodial operations and safety practices
• Current American Red Cross CPR/AED/FA certification (or willing to obtain)

Skills and Abilities

• Ability to operate cleaning equipment
• Ability to read (training material, work schedules), write (correspondence, accident reports), and accurately follow oral and written instructions
• Ability to perform basic mathematics
• The ability to operate computers for scheduling, email and data entry/retrieval
• Ability to manage time effectively, and set priorities
