SUMMARY
Thisis unskilled work responsible for keeping premises of county office buildingsin clean and orderly condition. The work is performed under direct supervisionand is reviewed through periodic inspections. Work includes dusting, sweeping,mopping, vacuuming and emptying trash.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Duties include but are not limited to:
- Dustingand cleaning chairs, tables, shelves, and other furniture or equipment
- Washingwindows, walls, woodwork and venetian blinds
- Sweeping,mopping, waxing, and buffing floors; vacuuming and shampooing carpets
- Cleaningbaseboards; removing cobwebs
- Polishingfurniture and brass fixtures
- Cleaningand supplying restrooms daily
- Cleaningoffices, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways,and other work areas
- Cleaningupholstered furniture
- Mayunlock buildings in the morning and secure buildings at night
- Emptyingwastebaskets and transporting trash and waste to consolidated disposal binsLoadingand unloading supplies and materials; stocking materials and supplies
- Operatingvacuum cleaners, steam cleaners, buffing machines, mops, brooms and dusters inthe performance of duties
- Mayraise and take down flags
- Assistingin training new custodians
- Performingother duties as assigned

MINIMUM EDUCATION and/orEXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or General EducationalDevelopment Certificate (GED)
- Twoyears professional related work experience
- Anequivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Theemployee must occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 pounds
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES,REGISTRATIONS
- Possessand maintain a valid Georgia Driver's License (Class C) and a satisfactory motorvehicle record (MVR) if assigned job duties requiring the use of a vehicle

- Knowledge of cleaning principles,techniques, guidelines, practices, and equipment as related to assignment;industrial cleaning
- Knowledge of occupational hazards andsafety precautions necessary for the safe operation of equipment, tools,machinery, and vehicles as required by assignment
- Knowledge of the operation of alldepartment equipment, tools, machinery, and vehicles as required byassignment
- Skill in handling and operating allassigned equipment, tools, and/or vehicles in a safe and proficient manner
- Skill in performing tasks which requireattention to detail, and completing assigned jobs efficiently andcorrectly
- Skill in planning, prioritizing, andorganizing work; ability to handle multiple work assignments and deadlinesefficiently, accurately, and professionally
