AC Hotels combine Spanish roots, European style, and a global perspective. Located in downtown Minneapolis at the intersection of 4th and Hennepin, across from the Minneapolis Public Library, the 9-story, 245-key AC Hotel features an AC lounge and bar, library, media salons, meeting spaces, a boardroom, and a fitness center, connected to the City skyway system.

Sage Hospitality is hiring for the AC Hotel Minneapolis Downtown. We seek a creative individual who can bring this hotel to life while managing operations to ensure profitability.

Job Overview

Under general supervision, provides prompt and courteous food service to restaurant guests. The typical start time is 5:30 am.

Responsibilities

1. Greet guests and take food and drink orders, serving and accommodating special requests.
2. Maintain attentiveness throughout the dining experience, adhering to service standards.
3. Perform opening and closing sidework, including restocking and cleaning duties.
4. Keep cleanliness standards in the restaurant, wait station, and kitchen to ensure a presentable and compliant facility.
5. Manage guest checks accurately following established procedures.
6. Handle payments correctly, ensuring accuracy of checks and payment methods.
7. Attend all pre-meal and departmental meetings to improve communication and product knowledge.
8. Respond to customer inquiries promptly and knowledgeably, both in person and via phone.
9. Maintain a professional appearance and a friendly, courteous demeanor at all times.
10. Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

1. Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Experience: Minimum of 6 months in a similar role.
3. Skills: Basic customer service knowledge, food service functions, restaurant and kitchen operations, standard cash handling, fluency in English (oral and written), good vision for detailed checks and instructions, manual coordination skills.

Physical Demands

Must lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 lbs, with occasional handling of items up to 75 lbs. Requires standing, walking, reaching, stooping, and other physical activities throughout the shift. Good hearing and vision are essential for communication and safety. Ability to perform multiple tasks in a noisy environment is required.
