Job summary

Boys & Girls Clubs of Northeast Ohio (BGCNEO) is seeking a dynamic PT Assistant Club Director for our Westwood Club in Elyria, OH. You will assist in daily After-School Youth Program operations and support the Club Director across activities, staff and volunteers.

Preferred candidates hold a Bachelor's degree and have prior BGCA-like experience. This role offers paid training, PTO, holidays and opportunities for advancement, with a 2pm-7pm shift Monday through Friday.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent professional experience.
• Experience in youth program operations or Boys & Girls Club setting preferred.
• Strong communication, supervision and recruitment abilities.
• Must have valid driver’s license and CPR certification or ability to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Assist in managing one location and lead at site in director's absence.
• Support daily After-School Youth Program operations at Westwood Club.
• Recruit, train, supervise and motivate program staff.
• Maintain relationships with local businesses, schools and community partners.
• Ensure facilities are safe, clean and ready for daily programming.

Boys & Girls Clubs of Northeast Ohio (BGCNEO) is seeking a dynamic and experienced PT Assistant Club Director to assist with daily After-School Youth Program operations of our Westwood Club in Elyria, OH.

This individual will report to the Club Director/Regional Area Director and be responsible for assisting in the management of one location; in the absence of the club director, serve as lead staff person at the site and work with administration, Club staff and volunteers to provide members with an optimal Club experience. Our hope is to find someone with a background in the following areas:

Program management, staff supervision, effective guidance and communication (both verbal and written) skills, Bachelor’s degree preferred and/or subsequent professional experience.

• This is a Part-Time position, Monday through Friday - Payrate is $ 18.26 per hour.
• School Year shift approx. 2pm-7pm. (Aug-May)

• Promote, stimulate and recruit student membership for the Club
• Assist Club Director with recruiting, selecting and managing program staff

• Cultivate positive and beneficial relationships with local businesspeople, school officials, politicians, parents and other social service agencies and the community at large
• Ensure building and property of the Club are safe, clean and in good condition for daily programming
• Provide guidance and be a Role Model

Preferred Skills & Requirements:

• Four-year degree in related field from an accredited college or university.
• 1 year work experience in a Boys & Girls Club or similar organization planning and supervising activities based on the development needs of young people
• Demonstrated ability in personnel supervision, facilities management, and the recruitment and retention of key personnel
• Ability to recruit, train, supervise & motivate staff
• Effective communication skills both oral and written
• Final candidates must clear a background check and drug test
• Demonstrated ability in working with young people, parents, and community leaders
• Valid State Driver’s License & CPR certification required (or obtain within 6 month of hire)
