Pt Assistant Professor Clinical Dentistry Faculty

Position Title: Pt Assistant Professor Clinical Dentistry Faculty

Department: College of Dental Medicine

Position Category: Faculty Part Time

Job Description: The Lincoln Memorial University-College of Dental Medicine (LMU-CDM) is seeking Pre-Clinic & Clinical General Dentistry Faculty at the LMU-Tower and LMU Community Care Clinics. The position reports to the Dean for Clinical Affairs and is responsible for supervising LMU-CDM students in the Centers for Excellence (CE) to provide care to their patient family.

Required Qualifications:

  1. DDS or DMD
  2. 10-15 years Experience in private practice where dentistry is performed.
  3. 10-15 years Experience in a dental teaching environment preferred.

Job Duties:

  1. Supervise students in the comprehensive care unit to provide comprehensive care to their patient family.
  2. Maintain Standards of Care and ensure continuity of care for all patients in the Centers for Excellence.
  3. Participate in clinic quality assurance and continuous quality improvement measures.
  4. Work on the clinic floor 5 days per week, depending on faculty practice day.
  5. Assist the staff, faculty, and administration in Knoxville to train adjunct faculty to achieve clinical calibration.
  6. Work with the dental assistant(s) and Clinic Care Coordinator and contribute to performance review evaluations in conjunction with the Dean for Clinical Affairs and Associate Dean for Clinical Affairs.
  7. Coordinate with the Associate Dean for Faculty and Students for staff leave (vacation, medical) and clinic floor coverage.
  8. Complete administrative reports as needed and all LMU-required employee training.
  9. Track student progress and collaborate with Center for Excellence Attending Faculty and the Dean Clinical Affairs and Associate Dean for Clinical Affairs on student deficiencies.
  10. Assure patient, student, and staff safety and communication.
  11. Perform dental procedures on patients as needed.
  12. Serve on committees as assigned.
  13. Support/participate in an after-hours emergency care program as needed.
  14. Perform additional duties as assigned by the Dean for Clinical Affairs.
