  • DESCRIPTION:

    The Nassau BOCES Adult Career and Technical Education (CTE) program provides industry aligned career training and experiences to empower adults by assisting them with acquiring the employable skills necessary to assimilate into the 21st century workforce. The CTE program is seeking a part-time instructor to teach adults in our Adult Evening Nail and Wax Technician Program. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
    • Instruct students in accordance with New York State licensing requirements for nail technology and waxing.
    • Deliver engaging hands-on training in the following areas: natural nail care techniques, safety and sanitation practices, bacteriology and infection control, manicure and pedicure procedures, artificial nail enhancement techniques, application of hard and soft UV gels and acrylics, nail art, color theory and design principles; as well as anatomy and physiology of the arms, hands, legs and feet; hair removal techniques including facial and body waxing; and proper tweezing and waxing procedures.
    • Prepare and implement lesson plans that align with curriculum goals.
    • Monitor students’ progress and provide ongoing feedback and support.
    • Maintain classroom cleanliness and enforce safety protocols.
    • Encourage a positive, professional learning environment.

    This part-time instructional position is four nights per week from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM at the Adult Career and Technical Education Center in Westbury, NY.


    REQUIREMENTS:
    • Valid New York State Nail Specialty and Wax License.
    • Industry related experience.
    • Strong communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
    • Previous teaching experience is preferred.

    SALARY: As per salary schedule.
